Why I built Transitus

You are probably asking, why Darien? Why Transitus? I am happy that you are asking that question and I understand the hesitation to trust me. Simply, I am a 30-year old man who lives in Denver, Colorado who has been in real estate in several capacities for 7+ years. Yes, we buy homes. That's a part of how Transitus makes money, and I'll never hide it from you. But to me, credentials shouldn't be the full story. Instead, truth should.

Over the years, I have bought, been a landlord, flipped, rented and had conversations with hundreds of people in real estate. Something that stuck out, specifically with people who operate in distressed real estate, is how they weaponize information asymmetry to take advantage of homeowners when they are in their most vulnerable states. Behind on payments, going through divorce, fighting a tax lien, anything that puts their home and livelihood in jeopardy. And in doing so, they are there precisely to make as much money as they possibly can at the expense of the homeowner.

This is why I started Transitus. Because people deserve support in their toughest moments, not exploitation. They deserve all the information, not a subset of it. They deserve the choice for their home, not an ultimatum. Truly, I started Transitus to reshape this industry and remove the predatory nature that exists. The dream is simple. How lonely and untrustworthy this feels today should feel foreign tomorrow, and we will do everything we can to make that happen.
